Optimize Your Stride with Gait Analysis
If you experience pain while running, analyzing the way you run (aka your running gait) can offer valuable insights into the root cause of your discomfort. Gait analysis involves assessing how your body moves during each phase of your stride, from foot strike to push-off. By examining factors such as your posture, alignment, stride length, and the way your feet hit the ground, we can identify imbalances or inefficient movements that might be contributing to your pain.
Understanding the mechanics of your running stride in the context of your current injury allows us to create a tailored treatment plan that not only addresses your symptoms but also works to prevent future injuries. During a physiotherapy appointment, gait analysis provides us with a piece of the rehab puzzle. Combined with your training history, injury history, and current symptoms, we’ll develop a comprehensive approach to your recovery, ensuring you can run pain-free and more efficiently.

Virtual Physiotherapy Assessment + Gait Analysis
90 minutes / $160
In addition to a regular physiotherapy assessment with me, this appointment includes extra time to analyze your running gait videos and will include treatment recommendations to help you with your running form.
Virtual Physiotherapy Treatment + Gait Analysis
45 minutes / $100
This option can be helpful if your running injury is currently keeping you from running consistently. We’ll start with a regular PT Assessment and once you’re back to running we can review your gait and make any tweaks that may be needed to get you back to pain-free running.
The Process
Book your 90 minute assessment (see button below!)
You will receive an email with instructions on how to film yourself for a gait analysis. Film yourself running and send the videos along to me before your appointment.
We’ll connect virtually using Jane App for your assessment. During your assessment we’ll review your intake form, I’ll take you through a functional movement screen, and we’ll review your running gait videos together.
I’ll provide you with guidance on any exercises, cues and training modifications that will be helpful in your specific case, based on my assessment findings. From here, we’ll follow up as needed (usually every 2-3 weeks) to review your progress.
We will continue to work together until you feel confident with your new running cues and self-management plan.
