Virtual Physiotherapy & Coaching for Runners

Recover from injury, train smarter, and run for life.

Hi, I’m Emma!

Ontario-based Registered Physiotherapist and Owner of Rehab to Racing

Emma Vaillancourt, Physiotherapist and Run Coach

I’ve been running competitively for the last 15+ years. I understand the mindset of a runner and know that when pain prevents you from running, it can be hard to know where to turn. Managing my own running injuries and working with hundreds of runners throughout my physiotherapy career has led me on a life-long journey of learning the best treatment approaches to keep runners healthy. I bring a unique approach to rehab for runners that looks at the big picture to determine the cause of your injury. Through education and empowerment, my focus is on guiding you back to running in a way that’s safe and sustainable. Ready to get started?

The Rehab to Racing Mission

My goal is to help keep runners training consistently so that they can reap all the health benefits that running has to offer. Through virtual one-on-one coaching, individualized rehab programs, and evidence-based education, Rehab to Racing is centred on guiding you toward a healthy and sustainable relationship with running.

What Makes Emma Different

As a runner myself, I get it. We don’t like to be told to stop running (and we often don’t listen when we’re told to stop!). Thankfully, there are very few cases where running injuries require total rest. My job is to help you find the right amount of running for your current injury so that you can get back to consistent training as soon as possible.

Running injuries are complex. The more we can dive into your training history, recovery strategies, and life outside of running, the more we can piece together the puzzle of what caused your injury. My appointments are designed so that we can take the time we need to fully understand your injury and develop a plan forward.

There is more to life than just running. As a coach, my training plans are designed to help you find the right balance between training and life. Because running is meant to be fun and bring you joy, not add more stress to your already busy schedule.

Kind Words

“I first began working with Emma as my physiotherapist after getting injured during the cross country season. I had seen a few other physios who had helped, yet I was still unable to return to running injury free. After working with Emma as a physio, I eventually decided to hire her as my coach as well. Initially I just wanted to get back into running. The repeated injuries had taken away my joy in running, and as an ex-varsity athlete I struggled with the idea that I was never doing enough. Emma not only helped me rediscover the joy in running, but she also helped me to train for a half marathon and run paces I never imagined I would be able to again. Emma knew when to challenge me and when to remind me that rest is ok. I would highly recommend her as a coach to anyone and everyone!”
